AUCKLAND HISTORY & HERITAGE TOUR

Hear the fascinating stories of Auckland and how a series of small villages quickly became New Zealand’s largest city.
New Zealand is a modern country founded in 1840 when the Treaty of Waitangi was signed by over 530 Maori Chiefs and the British Crown. The Union Jack was raised for the first time in Tamaki Makaurau in September that same year by Governor Hobson who declared Auckland the Capital of the new colony.
On this tour, we’ll visit New Zealand’s first designated public park, the Auckland Domain. Rich in Maori, Chinese and European settler history.
A small group private tour of Auckland Museum is also included. Proudly sitting atop the park, Auckland Museum is home to the world’s largest collection of Maori and Polynesian taonga (treasures) and has spectacular views across the Hauraki Gulf.

INFANT AND CHILD POLICY

Any customer wishing to involve infants or children in guided tours must be aware of the following by the Purchasing Agency:

Infant

  • Children under 3 years old are classified as infants and will not be permitted on these tours.

Child

  • Children between 4 years – 16 years old are classified as children. Children under 16 years are not permitted to join these tours.

Infant and child bookings

  • The Purchasing Agency must inform the Provider if infants or children wish to participate at the time of booking.
  • The Provider will not allow children and infants to participate in these tours unless special permission is granted at time of booking.
  • No refunds or credits of any kind will be offered to the customer if a child is booked unexpectedly on these tours.
